About this tour

Embark on a truly unique fishing adventure aboard a traditional Pilot boat.

Departing from hearth of Tórshavn, we usually head south towards the serene southern end of Tangafjørður. Along the way, immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of the Faroe Islands through fascinating local stories shared by our expert guides—an experience that beautifully enhances your journey.

Sundini, the strait connecting Streymoy and Eysturoy, transforms into Tangafjørður between Norðuri í Sundum (Kollafjørður) and Morskranes. Weather permitting, we’ll sail along the picturesque seashore, offering stunning views of the Eysturoy villages: Morskranes, Kolbeinagjógv, the modern residential area of Strendur, Toftir, and Nes. You’ll also spot the windmills near Æðuvík and fish farms south of Kollafjørður.

As we sail, keep an eye out for seabirds. Depending on the season, you may encounter puffins, razorbills, and guillemots, adding an extra touch of wonder to your journey.

This tour combines breathtaking scenery, cultural storytelling, and a genuine fishing experience for an unforgettable day on the water.

Frequently asked questions

Bursatanga is a quiet hillside neighbourhood on the eastern edge of Tórshavn, known for its sweeping views over the capital and the surrounding fjords. Positioned above the coastline, it offers a unique vantage point where the city’s colourful rooftops meet the dramatic Faroese landscape.

The area stretches along the slope facing Nólsoyarfjørður, giving residents and visitors a clear line of sight toward the island of Nólsoy and the ever‑changing North Atlantic. Its elevation creates a natural divide between the bustling town centre below and the open, windswept hills that rise behind it.

Walking through Bursatanga, you’ll find a blend of modern Faroese homes, quiet streets, and pockets of green that reflect the calm, spacious character of the neighbourhood. The nearby walking paths lead toward the higher terrain above Tórshavn, where the views expand across Tangafjørður, Hoyvík, and the surrounding mountains.

With its peaceful atmosphere, scenic outlook, and close connection to both nature and city life, Bursatanga offers a distinctive perspective on Tórshavn—one that captures the gentle rhythm and understated beauty of the Faroese capital.
